Abstract:

To speed up processing and improve authentication accuracy by using a distance index method, in one-to-many biometric authentication processing.SOLUTION: A biometric registration device comprises: a reference data set generation unit which performs principal component analysis on templates of biometric data of a plurality of registered users and generates a set of reference data for a distance index method from results of the principal component analysis; and an index recording unit which calculates a degree of similarity between each template and the reference data and records an index of the degree of similarity between the template and the reference data from results of the degree of similarity calculation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
