Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the thermal efficiency of an engine by providing a compressor which pressurizes working fluid and supplys it to a heater, and moreover equipping with a regenerator, a starting storage vessel and a starting device, and providing a control device having a function generator to set the number of revolutions of a turbine to target value.
SOLUTION: Working fluid 10 composed of inert gas which is formed by heating metallic lithium Li and sulfur hexafluoride SF6 in a heater 1 utilizing chemical reaction heat as heat source and mixing Xe gas with them at a constant ratio, after driving a turbine 2, is lowered in its temperature for improving compression efficiency by a cooling equipment 4 making cooling action through a regenerator 3 and sea water 11 and supplied to a compressor 5. The working fluid 10, after pressurized by the compressor 5, is heated again by the regenerator 3 and supplied to the heater 1. The turbine 2 and compressor 5 are coaxially connected, and a propeller 7 is rotated by rotation of the turbine 2. The output of the turbine 2 is controlled through a SF6 control valve 8 and He+Xe control valve 9. Thus the thermal efficiency of an engine can be improved.
