Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a carpet that has excellent performance such as sound absorption and sound insulation by using polyester nonwoven fabrics, laminating a specific backing layer integrally on the back face of the base layer supporting the pile layer on the outer surface side.
SOLUTION: The nonwoven fabric produced by needle-punching polyester fiber web is used to form the outer face side pile layer and the base fabric layer supporting the pile layer integrally. Simultaneously, (A) 80-20 wt.% of polyester staple fiber of 20-130 μm diameter, at least one selected from the group consisting of round section (hollow) fiber, dense or hollow side by side conjugated fiber, non circular cross section fiber or axially splitable splitting fiber and (B) 20-80 wt.% of binder fiber with a conjugated structure of the sheath of copolyester melting at 110-180°C and of the core of high-melting polyester are used to give a nonwoven fabric with the face density of 100-1,000 g/m2 and a storage elasticity of 5-10 Pa (at a temp. of 0-50°C) at the dynamic elasticity test. The resultant nonwove fabric is laminated to the back face of the above-stated base fabric integrally thereby giving the objective carpet.
