To display a character of another linguistic system in two linguistic systems from reading in one linguistic system.
In a Japanese kanji/Pinyin correspondence table, Pinyin and Japanese kanji are related and stored. For displaying a 'pass' in Japanese, if Pinyin 'shan' of a 'mountain' in Chinese or Pinyin 'shang' of 'up' in Chinese, or Pinyin 'xia' of 'down' in Chinese is inputted from a keyboard, from the Japanese kanji/Pinyin correspondence table, 'mountain', 'fan', ... , 'pass' and, '... ' in kanji corresponding to 'shan', or 'up', 'still', ... , 'pass', and '... ' in kanji corresponding to 'shang', or 'down', 'summer', '... ', 'pass' and '... ' in kanji corresponding to 'xia', are extracted and displayed on a display device. Then, the 'pass' is selected and input thereof is directed. Naturally, when the 'pass' is selected, the reading of 'pass' in Japanese, 'touge', can be also displayed as required.
