CONSTITUTION: This controller is provided with the profile detecting section 42 for detecting the weighting profile of raw paper and the coating amt. profile in the coating amt. profile control section 41 having a sensor for measuring the quality of the paper in a transverse direction and the coating amt. adjusting device. The profile obtd. by multiplying the detected weighting profile of the raw paper by a coefft. A and the profile obtd. by multiplying the detected coating amt. profile by a coefft. B (coefft. B/coefft. A<1.0) are added and the manipulated variable of the coating amt. is computed by the manipulated coating amt. profile computing section 43 from the resulted deviation between the profiles. The manipulated variable is sent by the coating amt. adjusting control section 44 to the respective positions of the coating amt. adjusting device on the basis of this coating amt. profile, by which the coating amt. is adjusted.
