PURPOSE: To provide a coating compsn. has extended potlife, good curing speed and well-balanced physical and mechanical characteristics making them specially well suitable for a variety of coating uses.

CONSTITUTION: A coating compsn. fitted to use for thermosetting coating and based on an active unsaturated group-containing compd. (A), an active CH group-containing compd. (B) and a strong basic catalyst (C), wherein the strong basic catalyst is blocked with a carboxylic acid which is volatile and/or undergoes decarboxylation under curing conditions, is provided. This coating compsn. possesses extended potlife, good curing speed and well-balanced physical and mechanical characteristics making them especially well suitable for a variety of coating uses such as in paint, impregnating, sealing and bonding compsns.
