When the facsimile equipment is adaptive to the number display service and a contract with NTT(Nippon Telegram and Telephone corp.) has been made, the user sets a setting switch for 'caller's telephone number notification service' 'ON'. When the setting switch is set 'ON', the line is placed normally in normal notification (nonnotification by call), so the default values of the telephone number notification service to be registered for a specific key 8 among keys 8 are set and the process ends. The set default values are stored in an SRAM 3.
