To provide a further diagnosing and treating agent capable of each detecting the presence of a tumor in a mammalian animal and efficiently inhibiting the growth of tumorigenic cells.
The various cellular polypeptides (and their coding nucleic acids or their fragments) more expressed in one or a plurality of types of cancer cells as compared with those of one or the plurality of the types of normal non-cancerous cells are provided. The polypeptides are called as tumor-associated kinase polypeptides ("TASK" polypeptides) and expected to become efficient targets for the treatment and diagnosis of the cancers in the mammalian animals. Also, isolated nucleic acid molecules having nucleotides encoding the tumor-associated antigenic target polypeptides or their fragments ("TASK" polypeptides) are provided.
