Abstract:
To provide compositions and methods for treating insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a self-vector having a nucleic acid sequence at least 95% identical to a nucleic acid sequence of a self-vector (BHT-3021) encoding and expressing human proinsulin (hINS), and a composition that is endotoxin free and comprises an adjuvant as a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and the self-vector, and a method for treating or preventing insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, which comprises the step of administering the self-vector intramuscularly.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
