Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:Isocholesterol alkyleneoxide addition compound of formula (R1 is steroid skeleton of isocholesterol; R2 is H or CH3; n is 5W100).
EXAMPLE: Isocholesterol propyleneoxide addition compound.
USE: Cosmetic base having lower melting point than isochlesterol, and desirable handleability. An emulsifying agent or a solubilizing agent having cell activating activity for cream, milky lotion, lipstick, hair tonic, etc. Also useful as an ointment base, cleansing cream, etc.
PROCESS: The compound of the formula is prepared by reacting isocholesterol with an alkyleneoxide, if necessary in the presence of a catalyst such as KOH, at 100W 200°C.
