Abstract:

To provide a magnesium alloy sheet improving a damping property without widely lowering the strength by introducing cracks, and to provide a manufacturing method therefor.

There is provided a damping magnesium alloy sheet having a plurality of cracks of 1 mm length in different directions only in the inner part. The manufacturing method includes; a process for obtaining the rolled sheet having cracks by rolling the magnesium alloy ingot; a process for removing the surface oxidized film of the rolled sheet; a process for obtaining the cast-inserting sheet by casting-in the rolled sheet after removing the oxidized film, with a magnesium alloy having the same composition as the above magnesium alloy; and a process for forming the cast-in sheet into the final alloy sheet by rolling with the temperature and the rolling-reduction ratio in the ranges generating no new cracks.
