Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for detecting catching in car doors that can accurately detect whether or not anything is caught in a car door regardless of fluctuations in the ambient temperature, and can reliably assure the safety of the passengers.
SOLUTION: A hollow part 33d that can be elastically distorted by external pressure if formed at a door contact 33 of the rubber trim 32 fitted to the edge of a car door, and a hollow part 34a that cannot be elastically distorted is fitted to a fitting 34. This device is configured such that whether or not there is anything caught in the car door based on the differential pressure between the air pressure in the hollow part 33d in the door contact 33 and the air pressure in the hollow part 34a in the fitting 34. Even in the event of fluctuations in the ambient temperature, the air pressure in the hollow part 33d inside the door contact 33 and the air pressure in the hollow part 34a inside the fitting 34 change in the same way. Therefore the fluctuations in the ambient temperature have no effect and the device can accurately detect whether or not anything is trapped in a car door.
