PURPOSE: To form an excellent color image without irregularity even when processing is performed in an extremely short time by constituting silver halide emulsion of silver halide particles containing silver chloride which is equal to or exceeds a specified value, jetting a specified quantity of processing solution to the surface of a photosensitive layer from a specified distance at a specified flow velocity by a processing solution jetting means at least at one spot in each processing tank and stirring the processing solution.

CONSTITUTION: A developing tank 12, a bleach-fixing tank 14, a washing tank 16, a dewatering part 17, and a drying part 18 are continuously provided in an automatic developing device main body 10. After a photosensitive material 20 is developed, bleach-fixed, and washed, it is dried and carried out from the main device 10. Carrying roller pairs 24 which hold and carry the color photographic photosensitive material 20 having at least one layer of silver halide emulsion containing ≥95mol% silver chloride on a supporting body are provided in the tank 12, the tank 14, the tank 16, the dewatering part 17 and the drying part 18. The material 20 is immersed in the processing solution which is not carried for a specified time, and the processing solution is jetted toward the material 20 from a distance of 1-20mm, ≥0.04l/minute per the photosensitive material of 1cm2 and at the jet flow velocity of 20cm/ second by the pump 32 of the processing solution jetting member 30 in each processing tank so as to perform image processing.
