PURPOSE: To accurately suck an electronic component in a tape by vacuum and to improve reliability by pitch feeding the taped component, recognizing the position of the component, and correcting the vacuum sucked position.
CONSTITUTION: A part cassette 1 pitch feeds an electronic component 3 taped and contained in a reel 2. A head 6 has a nozzle 4 for sucking the component 3 by vacuum and a chuck 7 for restricting the sucked component 3. A recognition unit 12 is secured to the head 6 provided on an XY table 5 which can be positioned in XY direction. The positional data of the component 3 obtained by the unit 12 is processed by processing means 13 to obtain the difference from the vacuum sucked position in theory as the correction data at the time of drive of the table 5. Thus, the component 3 of the sucked position is recognized at its position, the table 5 is so corrected as to suck the center of the component by the nozzle 4, the sucked component 3 is restricted by the chuck 7, and mounted on a printed board 8.
