An image/sound device according to the present invention includes a communication part, and a connection part to which an external recording medium is connected. It also includes a reproduction control part for acquiring relevant information related to reproduction information including an image or a voice is acquired from the communication part or a recording medium for the reproduction information so as to record it in the external recording medium. It further includes a speed measuring part for calculating a processing speed at the time of writing processing, reading processing, or reading/writing concurrent processing from/to the external recording medium. It further includes an alarm part for giving, when the processing speed is lower than a predetermined threshold value, an alarm informing there is possibility that delay may occur in an operation of the reproduction control part. Thereby, when a processing speed of the writing processing, reading processing, or reading/writing concurrent processing from/to the external recording medium is slow, it is previously notified to the user that there is possibility that delay may occur in the operation.
