PURPOSE: To enable the display of progress and residual quantity by displaying the existing reproduction quantity and the remaining quantity over the entire part of the recording part to the lighting part and light put-out part of a display device in the arbitrary position of the arbitrary recording part at the time of execution of reproduction.

CONSTITUTION: The total recording time information of the 1st recording part is calculated by the stored values of 1st, 2nd memory means 8, 9. The relative time information for the top position of the 1st recording part is stored in a 3rd memory means 10 in the arbitrary position of the 1st recording part. The ratio of the relative time information to the total recording time information and the ratio of the number of the lighted display elements or the number (p) of the put-out lights with the total number (n) of the display elements of the display device 7 are so controlled as to be equaled. The display device 7 is so controlled that p-pieces of the display elements are lighted in case of the lighting display and (n-p) pieces of the display elements are lighted in case of the light put-out display. The existing reproduction quantity of the 1st recording part is thus displayed by the light put-out part of the display device 7 and the residual quantity by the lighting part.
