Abstract:

To provide a stable electrophoretic display by solving a problem in which the shell thickness of particles is apt to be uneven caused by a production method, resulting in unstable dispersibility or electrostatic chargeability of electrophoretic particles.

The electrophoretic particles having polymer chains grafted to surfaces of color particles and a method for manufacturing the particles are provided, wherein a photo-living radical polymerization initiating group is coupled to the polymer chain.
