Abstract:

To provide a flow passage opening/closing valve which maintains hermeticity of a valve element and is rich in durability.

An EGR valve 20 includes a body 22, a ball valve 30, a shaft 90, a valve presser 32 coming into contact with the ball valve 30 and a valve seat 37. An annular groove 43 is formed between a small-diameter portion 34 and large-diameter portion 36 of the valve presser 32 and has a diameter smaller than the small-diameter portion and large-diameter portion have. A chamber 33 is formed between the annular groove 43 and body. Since a combustion product of exhaust gas is deposited on the chamber 33 when entirely closing the ball valve 30, the hermeticity between the ball valve 30 and exhaust gas flow out port 26 can favorably be maintained for the long term.
