Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a food freezing apparatus capable of freezing securely an item to be frozen with high heat exchange efficiency in heat exchange of the item to be frozen with a coolant gas.
SOLUTION: This apparatus comprises a tunnel unit 1 provided with a food inlet opening 9 and outlet opening 10, a belt conveyor 2 composed of a gas- permeable material, low-temperature liquefied gas supply mechanism 21, an exhaust mechanism 22, and a plurality of agitator fans 3 located at predetermined intervals in longitudinal direction of the tunnel 1 to make the gas flow upward in the tunnel 1, and a plurality of vertical partition plates between respective agitator fans 3 and between agitator fans and the liquefied gas feed ports for interrupting the gas flow in the longitudinal direction of the tunnel 1.
