Abstract:
PURPOSE: To form a rigid and stable oxide film on the balancing surface of a rotating body, by treating the rotating body at a prescribed temp. for a prescribed time in a nitrogen atmosphere or in nitrogen and steam atmospheres in succession.
CONSTITUTION: A rotating body after surface grinding for balancing is put in a heat treatment furnace and heated to 300W510°C in a nitrogen atmosphere or in nitrogen and steam atmospheres in succession. The rotating body is held at 300W510°C for 10W45min in a steam atmosphere, and it is held at 300W510°C for 5W25min in a nitrogen atmosphere. A rigid and stable oxide film is formed on the balancing surface of the rotating body.
