Title:
HEAT-TRANSFER ORIGINAL PAPER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6189887
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a paper raw thermal transfer, having high strength, favorable thermal conductivity and favorable transfer sensitivity, by impregnating a paper with a resin containing a metallic powder for enhancing thermal conductivity.

CONSTITUTION: A paper having a basis weight of about 20 g/m2 is impregnated with a resin, which may be based on aminoalkyd, alkyd, amino, acryl, polyurethane, polyethylene, polyester or the like. A powder of a metal such as aluminum and copper for enhancing thermal conductivity is dispersed in a coating liquid of the impregnating resin. The impregnation of the paper with the resin results in that gaps between fibers of the paper are filled up, leading to a higher strength, the thermal conductivity is enhanced, and a carbon ink applied to the back side is prevented from penetrating to the face side. The metallic powder mixed in the resin has the action of filling up the gaps in the paper, thereby further enhancing transfer sensitivity.
