To improve a user's convenience by using identification information for a purpose other than personal authentication.SOLUTION: An image reading device comprises: a display unit that displays a UI screen; an authentication unit that authenticates a user based on identification information on the user input through reading of a medium for identification having the identification information; a display control unit that controls the display performed by the display unit; a setting unit that, in a state in which the authentication of the user performed by the authentication unit is successful, sets functions of the image reading device according to setting information selected on the UI screen; and a storage unit that stores a database registering the identification information, at least one of the functions, and the setting information in association with one another.
