PURPOSE: To freely adjust the image read start position according position signal detected and to prevent the omission of a read image by indicating the image reading position by indicating material and detecting the image position by position detecting means of the indicating material.
CONSTITUTION: When read start signal SR is sent to an image sensor 6 being delayed by delay circuit 31 for delay time T which is calculated by arithmetic unit 30 according to the voltage VX from a linear potentiometer corresponding to the position of a cursor 18, the image sensor 6 starts reading the image. Therefore, the image position of the frame of film to be read by the image sensor 6 is specified by the cursor 18 provided on a screen 17, and the specified position is detected by the linear potentiometer 26. And, the read start time can be changed according to the position signal VX of the linear potentiometer 26. In this way, the read position of the image can be adjusted freely.
