To provide a pigment ink composition for inkjet recording, with which excellent printing stability, printed matter durability, and drying characteristics are achieved.
The ink composition at least includes a pigment, an organic solvent, and two or more binder resins with their weight average molecular weights (Mw) different from each other, wherein general expressions (1), (2) are satisfied when the weight average molecular weight of the binder resin with the minimum weight average molecular weight (Mw) out of two or more used binder resins is represented by Mw, and that of the binder resin with a larger weight average molecular weight (Mw) is represented by Mwx (x=1, 2, 3, and so on). General expression (1): Mwx (x=1, 2, 3, and so on)-Mw10,000. General expression (2): 1,000Mw30,000 and 20,000Mwx100,000.
