To provide a vehicle, in which a rider can ride the vehicle out of a saddle or sit on the saddle, footsteps can be changed to be at optimal positions when sitting on the saddle so as to improve the ease of riding and is excellent in running performance.
The inverted pendulum type vehicle 1 includes: a base 2; a movement operation part 3 connected to the base to be movable on a floor surface G to move the base in a desired direction; a drive part driving the movement operation part; step parts 5, which are attached respectively to the right and left sides of the base, and on which the rider P puts his/her feet while straddling the base; and a seat part 6, which is attached to an upper part of the base, and on which the rider can sit. Each step part has an auxiliary step part 20 expansible at least in a horizontal direction.
