In the printer 1, by operating an operating part 79 on the upper face of a printer main body 3, the work such as a data input by the hand scanner 2 and a label issue by a printing part 22, etc., is executed in front of the printer main body 3. Also, the maintenance work such as the replenishment of a label sheet 25 and the change of a battery 36, etc., is executed in the rear of the printer main body 3. In such a way, the operability and the maintainability of the label issuing device become both satisfactory.
