PURPOSE:To eliminate the dislocation of a scanning dot caused by an abnormal can of a light beam due to eccentricity, etc., of a light beam scanning means, and to contrive the improvement of a printing quality by correcting the light beam with correction data corresponding to each beam scanning element. CONSTITUTION:A light beam scanning means 11 is constituted of a hologram disk 21, and each hologram facet No1 - No(n) of the hologram disk 21 divides the angle 360 deg. of a circle into unequal angles theta1, theta2not equal to - not equal to thetan. Therefore, a light beam L emitted from a light beam generating means 12 is brought to primary diffraction by the hologram disk 21, and reaches a light beam detecting means 14a. By counting this arrival time at every hologram facet No1 - No(n), the hologram facets No1 - N(n) are identified. Accordingly, by correction data D1 - Dn coordinated to the hologram facets No1 - No(n), a light beam scan can be corrected with high reproducibility. In such a manner, the irregularity of scanning width and the dislocation of a scanning dot are eliminated, and a printing processing with a high quality can be executed.
