To provide a machining method and a machining device which can demonstrate the feature of long life and high precision that a diamond tool originally has with the diamond tool even in the machining of the material, especially iron-based metal material containing either an element belonging to the 4th period of group VIIIa or Ti.
A current and voltage generation device is connected to an electrode or the diamond tool disposed opposedly to the material to be machined, and the material to be machined, and the electrode or the diamond tool disposed opposedly to the material to be machined is connected to the positive electrode, the material to be machined is connected to the negative electrode, and the machining is processed in such a state that the electric field is impressed. The machining device has the current and voltage generation device, the positive electrode of the current and voltage generation device is connected to the electrode or the diamond tool disposed opposedly to the material to be machined, and the negative electrode if the current and voltage generation device is connected to the material to be machined.
