To suppress disappearance of magnetic recording by efficiently heating and cooling magnetic particles in a recording layer for magnetic recording and securing the thermal stability of the magnetic particles heated during magnetic recording and the thermal stability of the peripheral magnetic particles located near the heated magnetic particles in a magnetic recording medium for HDD using a thermally assisted recording system.
A thermal conduction layer including a plurality of materials having different thermal conductivities is arranged on an upper part of the recording layer, and then, a thin film including a material of the highest temperature conductivity among a plurality of materials is arranged at the upper part of a data recording area of the recording layer. In the thermal conduction layer, the thin film including materials of a thermal conductivity relatively lower rather than the thin film including the materials of the highest temperature conductivity among a plurality of materials is arranged between the thin films including the materials of the high temperature conductivity.
