Abstract:
PURPOSE: To protect a contact-type image sensor against damage not only in a manufacturing process but also in a reading operation where a manuscript is read in using a board area effectively.
CONSTITUTION: A common drive wiring 104 and separate signal wirings 111 of sensor elements 11 provided onto an insulating board are formed as led out of a manuscript running region. The common drive wiring 104 and the separate signal wirings 111 are electrically connected to short patterns 120 and 121 via IC pads 14. ICs are connected to the IC pads 14, and then the insulating board is cut out along the short patterns 120 and 121, whereby the common drive wiring 104 and the separate signal wirings 111 are electrically disconnected from each other.
