Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a hydrogen storage alloy electrode excellent in the electrode performance such as the high-duty discharging characteristic at a low temperature and the life.
CONSTITUTION: Hydrogen storage alloy powder is dipped in an alkaline solution containing cobalt ions or copper ions together with the powder of an oxide or a hydroxide slightly soluble in the alkaline solution, e.g. Y2O3, at 65°C or above. A mixture of the hydrogen storage alloy powder and the powder of the oxide or hydroxide, not necessarily in the powder state, may be pressurized into an electrode, then it may be dipped in the alkaline solution.
