To provide a method for manufacturing easily an open-cell type flexible polyurethane slab foam which extremely rarely destroys the ozone layer and which has a further finer and uniform foam diameter, a soft skin touch and a silky-touch having no dry-up feeling and a sense of high quality.
This manufacturing method of an open-cell type flexible polyurethane slab foam is a manufacturing method of the foam in which a polyisocyanate is reacted with an activated hydrogen compound which can be reacted with an isocyanate group of the polyisocyanate, in the presence of a foaming agent, wherein the foaming agent is a compound selected from the group consisting of a fluorocarbon represented by the formula:CnF(2n+2) (n=1-8) and a hydrofluorocarbon represented by the formula:CnF(2n+1)H (n=1-7) or the formula:CnF2nH2 (n=1-7), and a frothing procedure is performed, while the reaction mixture has yet a low viscosity before the reaction initiation, and then the reaction mixture is reacted and cured. This foam has a cell number per a unit area of 10 pieces/mm2 or more and the cell has a cross-sectional form being circular or an approximately circular and a diameter of 50-300 μm.
