PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for measuring an article which improves the accuracy of measuring the article, reduces the measuring time and miniaturizes the measuring apparatus, etc.
SOLUTION: An inclined article feed box 1 is vibrated to eject articles out onto a feed passage 3 inclined in the opposite direction to the box 1, a group transport passage 4 and an arranging transport passage 5 inclined in the opposite direction to the box 1 receive the articles and are vibrated to send out the articles in a group from the passage 4 to a measuring box 2 and in an array of the articles from the passage 5 thereto one by one, respectively. When a predetermined total weight of the sent articles is reached below a specified weight thereof, the box 1 and the passage 4 are stopped from vibration, and an article sending outlet 23 of the passage 4 is shut off. When a fixed total weight of the articles sent to the measuring box 2 is reached, the passage 5 is stopped from vibration.
