PURPOSE: To provide an apparatus for mounting an electronic part, in which an electronic part can be held in position accurately with respect to a robot, and a short tact time is realized.

CONSTITUTION: In a part mounting apparatus, a workpiece 14 like an electronic part made up of a main body and a leg part is carried from a pallet 16 to a given mounting position 24, where the workpiece 14 is mounted on a circuit board 20. A robot 10 is used for holding the workpiece 14 at its feeding position and carrying the workpiece 14 to the mounting position 24. A positioning jig is used for positioning the workpiece 14 accurately with respect to the robot 10 while the workpiece 14 is supported by the robot 10 on the way from the feeding position to the mounting position 24.
