PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for sucking a functional liquid drop discharge head for performing the suction of the functional liquid drop discharge head efficiently and an apparatus therefor, a liquid drop discharge apparatus, a method of manufacturing an electro-optic device, the electro-optic device and an electronic apparatus.
SOLUTION: A nozzle 39 of the functional liquid drop discharge nozzle 31 is sucked by an ejector 101 through a cap 73 brought into close contact with a nozzle face 38 of the functional liquid drop discharge head 31 for discharging the functional liquid drop. The suction apparatus for the functional liquid drop discharge head 31 for sucking the functional liquid drop discharge head 31 through the cap 73 brought into close contact with the functional liquid drop discharge head 31 for discharging the functional liquid drop is provided with the ejector 101 communicating with the cap 73 and sucking the nozzle 39 of the functional liquid drop discharge head 31 and a working liquid supply means 5 for supplying a working liquid to the ejector 101.
