To provide a method and device for environmental monitoring by which the environments of a plurality of locations can be monitored continuously with a simple and inexpensive device constitution.
The device has a plurality of sensor sections 10 which are respectively positioned to a plurality of spots and generate carriers containing information on chemical substances contained in the ambient air at the spots, transmitting bodies 14 which respectively transmit the carriers generated by means of the sensor sections 10 to one spot, and a measuring section 12 which is provided at the spot and identifies the kinds of chemical substances contained in the ambient air at the spots and/or calculates the concentrations of the chemical substances by analyzing the carriers generated by means of the sensor sections 10.
