Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a method and device by which the processing time can be shortened and processing can be performed easily, and then, low-dispersion operated results can be obtained.
CONSTITUTION: In a method and device for performing Gaussian recursive operation, especially, two-dimensional convolutional operation on a set of picture elements of an image respectively expressed by voltages, (a) a voltage is applied across the terminals of a plurality of first capacitors (Cd) having first terminals connected to a reference potential and second terminals which constitute a plurality of nodes of a network and are electrically connected to each other, (b) adjacent nodes in the direction of the network are connected together for a prescribed period of time through second uncharged capacitors (Cb), (c) the second capacitors (Cb) are discharged by again insulating the nodes of the network from each other, (d) the operations described in (b) and (c) above are repeated, and (e) the voltages which exist at the nodes of the network and indicate the picture elements of the convolved image are read out.
