PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide compositions for reducing the incidence of catheter associated urinary tract infections.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to an aqueous cleaning composition which maintains skin's acid mantle, eliminates infectious microorganisms, and maintains skin's barrier characteristics and which comprises (a) an ampholytic surfactant, (b) an anti-inflammatory agent selected from the group consisting of Aloe vera, allantoin, cocamide propylbetaine, and these mixtures, (c) an anti-foaming agent of skin compatibility, (d) a cell growth promoting agent selected from Aloe vera, allantoin, β glucan, bioflavonoids, polyphenol compound, a quaternary compound derived from Citrus X paradisi, and a mixtures thereof, (e) a fast-acting antimicrobial agent with skin compatibility selected from the group consisting of colloidal silver, pycnogenol, grape-seeds extract, a quaternary compound derived from Citrus X paradisi, and a mixtures thereof, and (f) a component selected from the group consisting of immune system-enhancing agents, absorption facilitation agents, humectants and emollients, free radical-scavenging agents, and healing promoting agents.SELECTED DRAWING: None
