Abstract:
To provide a method for manufacturing an optical fiber capable of arbitrarily arranging a hole position to be disposed at a clad at a position different from the core center.
In a method in which an optical fiber preform 20 whose at least center part is composed of a bundle of a quartz rod and a quartz tube is prepared and the optical fiber preform is drawn to manufacture the optical fiber having a plurality of holes around the core, at least one of the quartz tube consisting of the optical fiber preform is the quartz tube having an eccentric hole.
