Abstract:

To provide a method for manufacturing a sintered alloy capable of efficiently decreasing surface roughness by a barrel treatment.

The method for manufacturing a sintered component includes: a process of forming a green compact by pressing raw material powder; a process of sintering the green compact to form sintered alloy; and a process of applying a quenching treatment S31 to the sintered alloy, wherein, prior to the quenching treatment S21, protrusions on the surface of the sintered alloy 1 are removed and air holes on the surface are made small by a first barrel treatment S2, and the surface is smoothed by fine finishing S42 using a barrel after the quenching treatment S21. Thus, by performing the first barrel processing S21 in a relatively soft state before the quenching treatment S21, the protrusions on the surface of the sintered alloy 1 are removed and at the same time, the air holes on the surface are made small, and after quenching treatment S31, the surface of sintered alloy is smoothly worked by the fine finishing S42 and can be smoothed.
