To provide a method for producing a dielectric ceramic composition by which a densified dielectric ceramic composition can be obtained without deteriorating its various electric characteristics even when burned at a low temperature.
The dielectric ceramic composition is produced by using a sintering assistant having first component containing two or more kinds of compounds of M1 (M1 is alkali metals), second components containing a compound of M2 (M2 is the group V elements and the group VI elements), third components containing a compound of M3 (M3 is at least one selected from Ba, Ca, Sr, Mg, Mn, B, Al and Zn), and fourth components containing the oxide of Si or a compound to be converted into the oxide of Si by burning, and when expressed by the compositional diagram of a tetrahedron, the above compositional ratios satisfy the region other than the area on a BCD face (the composition, the first components = zero) surrounded by the point B, the point C and the point D.
