Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simulate a vibration characteristic of a tire.
SOLUTION: A tire to be evaluated is approximated by a tire finite element model 2 obtained by dividing the tire to a finite count of many elements, and performance of the tire is simulated from the model 2 with the use of a finite element method in this simulation method. The tire finite element model 2 is subjected to a run simulation process whereby a behavior of the model when relatively moved in touch with a virtual road face having projections is simulated. An information process is also carried out whereby a vibration characteristic of the model 2 when passing the projections is obtained from the run simulation process.
