Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To treat distillation residue containing fluorine ions or the like, generated when a reaction mixture obtained by the halogen exchange reaction of an aromatic chlorine compound with a fluorinating agent is distilled, to detoxify the same.
SOLUTION: Distillation residue is mixed with a chemical agent (e.g. calcium compound) and/or an adsorbent in the presence of an aqueous medium to precipitate flourine ions remaining in the distillation residue as a solid (e.g. calcium fluoride) and an organic compound produced as a byproduct by reaction is absorbed by the adsorbent to be separated.
