Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce memory band width of an external memory required for an integrated circuit in which plural functions of a video decoder, an audio decoder and a system controller or the like are integrated on one chip.
SOLUTION: While a video decoder 24 performs decoding processing and continuously outputs image information, an audio decoder 23 performs the decoding processing except for the processing which most request memory band width. When the video decoder 24 is turned into blanking period, the audio decoder 23 simultaneously performs the processing most requiring the memory band width, namely, block switching processing.
