PURPOSE: To simply adjust a hanging position by matedly providing a moving device for relatively moving a lifting electromagnet to a wanted position and a control section for exciting an exciting coil by AC or DC so as to control the moving device according to a specified condition.

CONSTITUTION: In a lifting electromagnet 10 attached to a hanging beam 15, a plurality of grooves 111 crossing a longitudinal direction at right angles is formed at fixed spaces in an iron core 11 formed longitudinally, and each of poles 112 is arranged between the grooves 111, and each of coils 112 is wound around each of poles 112. In this case, a moving device 20 for relatively moving the lifting electromagnet 10 to a wanted position and a control section 30 for the moving device 20 are arrangedly provided. The control section 30 AC-excites or pulse-excites each coil 12 only while the moving device 20 actuates, and in the case where a steel plate is hung and transported, exchanges over AC or pulse excitation into BC excitation, and simultaneously controls that the moving device 20 may not actuate.
