Abstract:

To provide a nonaqueous secondary battery with high capacity and high safety even when abnormalities are generated such as in overcharge.

This nonaqueous secondary battery has a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and an electrolyte, and sulfolene or its derivative is included in the electrolyte. The content of the sulfolene or its derivative in the electrolyte is preferable to be 0.05-10 wt.% in the solvent component of the electrolyte, and as a negative electrode active material, a carbon material having an average particle size of 8-20 μm is preferable. This is preferably applied to the nonaqueous secondary battery having a discharge capacity per volume of an electrode stack of 130 mAh/cm3 or more.
