To provide a new detection method which is independent of the magnetic field strength, for improving the detection sensitivity, by increasing the central magnetic field of NMR, since the improvement in the sensitivity of conventional methods has reached a limit, and according to the development of a protein research in recent years, increasing the need for the structure analysis of a complicated compound, having a large molecular weight, thus, enhancing the need for NMR performance each year.
The shape of a detecting coil is modified from a conventional bird cage type 27 to a solenoid type 4, having higher sensitivity. A superconducting magnet is constituted of a split magnet using the superconducting magnets 1, 2 and 3 and is divided into left and right sections having the magnetic field 11T horizontally, preferably, 14.1T or higher, instead of the superconducting magnet, comprising the conventional multilayered solenoids 28, 29 and 30, and it is required that the magnetic field homogeneity be 0.001 ppm or smaller, and time stability be 0.001 ppm or smaller.
