Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operational amplifier capable of increasing an output current and controlling a through current.
SOLUTION: This operational amplifier is constituted of a differential stage for receiving two input signals IN- and IN+ and outputting signals NGP corresponding to a potential difference, a level shift stage for being supplied with the signals NGP and outputting level shifted signals NGN and an output stage for being supplied with the signals NGP and NGN and outputting the signals OUT in which the potential difference of the two input signals is amplified. In this case, the level shift stage is constituted of a DDA(differential difference amplifier). Thus, when the gain of the DDA is defined as A1, A2 and A3, among the input signals NGP, the output signals NGN and bias voltages VBP and VBN, relation provided with linearity expressed by A3{A1(VBN-NGN)- A2(VBP-NGP)}=NGN is established. Thus, the maximum current driving ability of the transistor TN1 of the output stage is withdrawn and the through current flowing through the transistors TP1 and TN1 is controlled.
