Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber bundle structure and the like in which a distance from a center of the bundle structure to cores of the respective optical fibers becomes substantially constant.SOLUTION: An optical fiber bundle structure 1 includes a plurality of coated optical fibers 5 of a same diameter, a capillary 3 for holding the coated optical fibers 5, and the like. The coated optical fiber 5 comprises a core 7, and a clad 9 for enclosing the core 7. The plurality of coated optical fibers 5 are mutually twisted inside the capillary 3, with an axial direction of the capillary 3 used as a central axis. The coated optical fibers 5 are inserted into the capillary 3 and fixed to the capillary 3 with an adhesive 11 in the twisted state. At a tip end (an end face of the capillary 3) of the optical fiber bundle structure 1, the plurality of coated optical fibers 5 (the core 7) are fixed to the capillary 3 so as to be located at respective vertices of a rectangular polygon.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
