Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain an optical recording medium having a high refractive index by forming a light absorbing layer consisting of a metallophthalocyanine compd. and a compd. having a group contg. P atom capable of coordinating with the metallophthalocyanine compd.
CONSTITUTION: This optical recording medium has a substrate and a light absorbing layer formed on the substrate. The light absorbing layer consists essentially of a metallophthalocyanine compd. (A) and a compd. (B) having a group contg. P atom capable of coordinating with the compd. A. The compd. B is a compd. having a group represented by formula I or a compd. represented by formula II [where A is optionally substd. aryl and (n) is an integer of 2-6]. The number of electrons in the d-orbit of the central metal ion of the compd. A is 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or 10 and the ion is Fe2+, Co2+ or Zn2+.
